Wein Von 3, Established in 2012 by Three Wine Growers
Wein Von 3 was started in 2012 by three wine growers in a baroque country estate in Franken. The winery specializes in regional traditional grape varieties and all three owners have a lot of experience in winemaking. Heiko Niedermeyer has a BA and MSc degree in Wine Management and has experience in his vineyards. Alexander von Halem is the tour guide and owner of the adjoining castle. Christian Werr is the youngest of the three and has a BSc degree in Viticulture. The three work together with determination to produce eight wines and also run the castle tasting facility for visitors.
Wein Von 3 Winery places a lot of emphasis on their organic viticulture practices, no herbicides and pesticides are used.
Winery Cultivating Natural Vineyards and Working in New Winemaking Facilities
Since 2012, Wein Von 3 Winery practices their vine cultivation on nearly four hectares of vineyards. Much emphasis is given to organic viticulture, and there is no use of herbicides and pesticides. They leased vineyards for their wine production in Stammheim, and the work began. The 2012 vintage was the first wine produced by the winery. Earlier the winery worked under the name ‘Weingut Baroqueschloss’ and changed to Wein Von 3 in 2013. In 2018, Wein Von 3 constructed a new winemaking facility, a new tasting room, and wine shop were set up in their castle.
Main Varieties at the Winery
The main grapes grown at Wein Von 3 are Silvaner, Riesling, Bacchus, Kerner, Domina, and Pinot Noir. The best-quality grapes create their famous red, white, rosé, sparkling, and dessert wines. Patience and hard work go into their wine production, and the wines reflect the region’s qualities and features.
