Come spend a few hours at Château Shuette, our sustainable winery and regenerative farm just outside Bordeaux. We’re close enough to the city that you can easily reach us by Uber or Bolt, but once you arrive, it feels like a proper break from the usual Bordeaux wine route.
We’ll welcome you with a glass of pét-nat because a little sparkle is usually the easiest way to relax and get into the mood. Then we’ll wander through the vines with a glass in hand, talk about the land, the local ecosystem and the story behind the project, and show you a more relaxed, less buttoned-up side of Bordeaux wine.
Along the way, you’ll explore our organic garden, where we grow herbs, fruits and vegetables, and meet our resident quails. We’ll stop by the Dordogne for another glass and take a closer look at the river, the landscape and what makes this particular corner of Bordeaux so special.
Then it’s time to step into the working side of the winery. You’ll see the barrels and tanks up close, learn what is currently fermenting or ageing and, depending on the season, taste wine before it has even made it into a bottle.
We’ll also introduce you to our small spirits project and pour a few of our botanical infusions made with plants, fruits and herbs.
After the visit, the garden is yours for a while. We’ll prepare a picnic with local cheeses, charcuterie and fresh bread, together with a full bottle of one of the wines you tasted during the tour. Depending on the season, we’ll also add organic produce straight from our garden like raw honey or peaches.
And don’t be surprised if some of our free-range animals decide to join you for part of the picnic.
Why choose us?
- We’re just outside Bordeaux and easy to reach by Uber or Bolt, car or SNCF train.
- Your tour is hosted by people who work at the winery all year round, not seasonal guides. Ask the difficult questions, get into the technical details or hear stories directly from the people behind the project.
- This is a real working winery, not a polished showroom. You’ll see the cellar, barrels and tanks up close and may even taste wine before it is bottled.
- The experience goes beyond wine: vines, river views, an organic garden, botanical infusions and free-range animals are all part of the visit.
- Your picnic includes a full bottle of a wine you tasted during the tour, plus local cheeses, charcuterie, fresh bread and, depending on the season, produce from our garden.
No formal tasting rules and no need to rush anywhere. Just a working winery, good wine, local food and a quiet corner by the Dordogne.
