Breganze Wine Characteristics

The emblem of the Breganze appellation is the Vespaiolo grape. It is vinified in three different versions, still, sparkling and passito. In the latter case, Torcolato (still) is used because it takes its name from the sweetness of its juices. The fruit was given its name by locals to be descriptive.

Vespaiolo is a wine that has interesting aging tendencies. When young, it's straw yellow and has greenish echoes. As time goes on, the scent becomes more pleasant and the flavor becomes richer with hints of citrus. The wine provides an enviable freshness with its taste. One of the main reasons for this is that it contains natural acidity.

The Torcolato is obtained from dried bunches of Vespaiola grapes; it presents itself with a deep golden yellow color, with fragrances that recall honey and raisins. Its sweet-non-sweet, harmonious, velvety, full and round taste recalls ripe fruit, honey and sultanas. The wine goes well with a sweet dessert, such as blue cheese, and it can also be enjoyed on its own for the best experience.

White wines from the Breganze DOC are typically fruity, floral and mineral with a fresh and delicate taste.
