Château Mons La Graveyre promote Biodiversity and Handmade Organic Wines

Château Mons La Graveyre is located 15 Km. south of Bordeaux on the slopes of Cambes commune. It is a small estate spread across 4 hectares of land, out of which 2.3 hectares are planted with vines. The vineyard is divided into three plots on a hill facing the Gerone. The vines are surrounded by forests and meadows that uphold the natural biodiversity of the place. The family decided to settle down here because of the beautiful environment and started making terroir-driven wines here in 2016. The estate and vineyard have the organic AB certification since March 2020.

Ideal Natural Conditions around the Winery

The vineyards benefit from southern exposure, while the clayey soil consists of limestone. The biodiversity of the area, along with favorable conditions, helps in the growth and cultivation of vines. 70% of the vineyard is planted with Merlot, while Cabernet Sauvignon also grows here. The best grapes are chosen to make their famous Cadillac Cotes de Bordeaux red wine. Grapes are harvested manually and sorted before being placed in vats or barrels in the cellar.

Organic Handmade Wine

A lot of work and care goes into the production of wines. Each batch is tasted separately, and the vinification varies according to the vintage, grape type, maturity level, etc. Macerations last for up to four weeks, and then ageing takes place in barrels and jars both. The wines are tasted to decide when to stop the ageing and begin with the bottling process. Their wines are balanced, strong, and fruity with a silky structure and complexion.
