Le Clos d’Elle: A Gem in Languedoc

Founded in 1987, Le Clos d’Elle is nestled in the picturesque commune of Cournonterral, located in the renowned Languedoc region of southern France. The estate's first vinification took place in 2009, marking the beginning of a passionate winemaking journey.

The Meaning Behind “Clos d’Elle”

After two decades of winemaking experience, Claude Bousquet envisioned creating a winery that honored local terroir and tradition. He named the winery Domaine Clos d’Elle in tribute to his daughter Coralie, hoping to inspire his children—Mathieu, Benjamin, and Coralie—to embrace their winemaking heritage and join him in this family endeavor.

Commitment to Organic Winemaking

Today, the Bousquet family is dedicated to producing high-quality wines while moving towards sustainable practices. Le Clos d’Elle is currently transitioning to a fully organic operation. Their portfolio includes award-winning AOP and IGP Pays d’Oc red, white, and rosé wines, each reflecting the unique terroir and traditions of the Languedoc region. Every Friday from June to August, the winery opens its doors for music, cuisine, and wine tasting in a welcoming atmosphere. Guests can enjoy live music, taste the estate’s wines, and savor local dishes, including tapas and oysters, all while taking in the stunning views of the vineyards and gardens.

The estate is magnificent, it has a superb outdoor space and a very large, tastefully furnished room. We took advantage of the area all weekend for our greatest happiness and that of our loved ones. The support was up to par with a manager who was very available and very attentive.
