The vineyards of Le Clos d’Elle were founded in 1987, in and around the commune of Cournonterral, in the Languedoc region of southern France, with the first vinification taking place in 2009.
After 20 years as a winegrower, Claude Bousquet had always dreamed of creating his own caveau and wine, an authentic expression of terroir and tradition. He hoped to transmit his passion, his love of wine and viticulture, and his savoir-faire to his three children, Mathieu, Benjamin, and Coralie, and thus named the domaine « Clos d’Elle » in honor of Coralie, with the hopes that, one day, his children would claim their winemaker heritage and join him.
Today, that dream has come to pass! Now the Bousquet Family produces good quality wine and continue to develop towards a sustainable future, now in conversion to organic agriculture. Diverse lines of award-winning and internationally recognized AOP and IGP Pays d’Oc red, white, and rosé wine, each one an authentic representation of the terroir and tradition of the Languedoc region belong to their portfolio.
Every Friday during June, July and August, le Clos d’Elle opens its doors to welcome the public for music, cuisine, and wine tasting in their reception hall and on their lovely terrace and gardens overlooking the vineyards at the heart of the Domaine. It’s a wonderful moment to taste the wines of the domaine, listen to live music, and sample the dishes of their artisanal partners (including local dishes, tapas, oysters plates, and regional products) in a relaxed, convivial atmosphere.
