At Condie Estate, we believe in a straightforward approach to winemaking: using the finest inputs, selecting the best grape varieties, and allowing the unique characteristics of our region to shine. Owned by Richie and Rosanne Condie, the estate reflects Richie's agricultural roots and Rosanne's Italian heritage, which inspires their passion for quality food and wine. Together, they have cultivated a love for viticulture and winemaking that is evident in every bottle.

Winemaking at the Estate

Our vineyards are divided into two distinct plots: the Lewis Road vineyard and the Kyneton/Redesdale Road vineyard. The Lewis Road vineyard features 6 acres of Shiraz planted in 2001, 2 acres of Viognier planted in 2006, and 5 acres of Sangiovese planted in 2008. The diverse soils range from red rocky clay to red-brown loam, and we practice organic viticulture, utilizing chicken manure, fish, and seaweed fertilizers, along with minimal protective sprays of copper and sulfur. The Kyneton/Redesdale Road vineyard, located along the scenic Wild Duck Creek, boasts 4 acres of Shiraz vines planted in 1990. These older vines thrive in a mix of granitic rocky clay and sandy loams, producing exceptional wines over the years. While traditionally spur pruned, we are gradually transitioning to cane pruning to enhance fruit quality further.
