Organic Vines in the AOC Côtes de Marmandais

Discover Domaine de Beyssac

Domaine de Beyssac is located on a hill close to the Garonne valley in the South-West region of France. The vineyard covers an area of 12.5 hectares around the winery. Although the Domaine de Beyssac existed before, it only became a winery in 2009. The main focus of the winemakers at Domaine de Beyssac is to produce organic and biodynamic wines of the highest quality.

Organic Winemaking at Domaine de Beyssac

The vineyards include Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Abouriou and Cot, which are very suited to the clay-limestone slopes of the area. To maintain a good quality of grapes, they have limited the yield to less than 45 hl/ha, they harvest by hand and carefully transport them to the winery to start a natural vinification. They produce two red wines – The Initial, entirely made in stainless steel tanks, and The Essential, which is matured in oak barrels. The Essential is their first certified organic and biodynamic wine. They also produce a rosé wine named The Getaway.
