Experience the Rich Winemaking Heritage of Domaine Du Chalet Pouilly
The History of Domaine du Chalet Pouilly
Domaine du Chalet Pouilly, nestled in Solutré Pouilly, has been a family-owned winery since 1850 when the Plumet Family planted their first vines. Over the years, they have grown into a respected producer of white wines in Burgundy. In 1928, Joseph and Philippine Plumet achieved recognition by winning the top prize at the Mâcon Wine Competition. Henri Plumet, who took over the estate in 1950, dedicated himself to elevating the winery's reputation, leading to numerous awards and global acclaim.
The Owners’ Passion for Winemaking
In 1983, Henri’s daughter, Marie-Agnès Plumet, and her husband, Bernard Léger, took the reins of the family business. Their passion for winemaking led them to transition from careers in medicine to viticulture. Dr. Léger pursued a degree in Oenology, while Marie-Agnès earned an agricultural certificate in 2004. They honor the terroir and adhere to traditional winegrowing methods, resulting in flavorful Chardonnays with a distinctive character. Today, the winery produces approximately 50,000 bottles annually, exporting their exceptional wines worldwide. Domaine du Chalet Pouilly proudly holds the “Haute Valeur Environnementale” certification, along with Organic and vegan certifications.
