Petralona Winery: A Family-Owned Gem in Chalkidiki

Located in the picturesque village of Petralona in Chalkidiki, Petralona Winery is a family-owned estate that combines tradition with innovation. Just a short drive from the lush landscapes of Triglia, this winery not only produces exceptional wines but also high-quality extra virgin olive oil, known for its rich nutrients and high polyphenol content.

Founded in 2003, Petralona Winery is dedicated to crafting premium wines.

Transforming Tradition with Modern Techniques

Christos Kalaitzis, a former pharmacist, transitioned from the pharmaceutical industry to winemaking in 2003, partnering with Dmitris to establish Petralona Winery. Over the years, the winery has embraced both traditional methods and modern technology, enhancing its wine production process. The estate has invested in advanced machinery, ensuring meticulous care at every stage—from vineyard management and harvesting to fermentation, aging, and bottling.

Signature Varieties: Xinomavro and Sauvignon Blanc

Spanning three hectares, the vineyards benefit from a unique microclimate and fertile terroir, allowing for organic cultivation of a diverse range of grape varieties. The estate primarily grows renowned Greek varieties such as Merlot, Xinomavro, and Sauvignon Blanc, along with the distinctive Vidiano. Grapes are hand-harvested at peak ripeness, resulting in high-quality red, white, and rosé wines that reflect the essence of Chalkidiki’s finest appellation regions.
