Etna is a sub-region of the Sicily wine region. It covers the slopes of Mount Etna, located in the northeastern corner of Sicily.

There are two main airports close to Etna, one in Palermo and one in Catania. Catania International Airport (CTA) is the largest airport on the island, with regular domestic flights to most parts of Italy and international flights to European cities. Palermo Punta Raisi Airport (PMO)is also a major airport close to wineries in Etna. If you decide to get to wineries in Etna by car, take SS120 and E45 motorways.

The best time to visit wineries in Etna is from May to June or September to October. During these late spring and early fall months, the streets, beaches, and attractions won’t be as packed as they will be during the summer months.
