A Family-Owned Winery in Alentejo

Honrado Vineyards is a family-run winery located in the heart of Alentejo, Portugal. This unique venture is a collaboration between father and son, António and Ruben, who bring together their diverse skills to create exceptional wines. António, rooted in a family with a rich winemaking history in Vila de Frades, learned the art of producing wine in clay pots from his great-uncle. With a deep appreciation for Alentejo's culture and the ancient techniques passed down from the Romans, he began selling his Talha Wine at his restaurant, País das Uvas, which he opened with his wife, Jacinta, in the early 2000s.

The Tradition of Talha Wine

In 2016, Ruben returned to his roots after studying Economics and gaining international experience. With a passion for marketing and a desire to expand the reach of Talha Wine, he joined his father in their mission to showcase the best of Alentejo. Together, they established Honrado Vineyards, a family business dedicated to producing natural Talha Wines, enriched by three generations of winemaking knowledge. Their commitment to tradition and quality reflects the essence of Alentejo's winemaking heritage.

Winery-Museum Cella Vinaria Antiqua

In 2018, Honrado Vineyards launched the Winery-Museum Cella Vinaria Antiqua, aimed at preserving and celebrating the legacy of Talha Wine. Visitors can step back in time to the Roman era, where the first experiments with grapes in clay pots took place. The museum serves as a venue for events, guided tours, and wine-tasting experiences, offering a unique glimpse into the rich history and culture of Alentejo. This space not only honors the past but also invites guests to appreciate the artistry of winemaking in this remarkable region.
