Honrado Vineyards is a family-run project based in Vila de Frades, widely recognised as the Capital of Amphora Wine, bringing together several generations around this millennia-old tradition. Founded by António and Ruben Honrado, the company combines ancestral knowledge of winemaking in clay vessels with a contemporary and international vision. Specialising in natural, handcrafted amphora wines, Honrado Vineyards is committed to preserving the authenticity of the region and producing wines that express the history, culture and identity of the Alentejo.
The Cella Vinaria Antiqua Winery-Museum is located in a historic building restored by the Honrado family in 2018. During the restoration works, arches, ancient wine vats, a well with two natural springs and an underground cooling system were uncovered, revealing the building’s remarkable past. Today, the site houses the production of Honrado Vineyards wines and welcomes visitors for guided tours, wine tastings, gastronomic experiences and events, offering a unique immersion in the heritage, traditions and culture of Alentejo amphora wine.

A history of the story gave me a great impression. Portanto, not se trata apenas de provar to vinho que é feito de uma maneira ancestral e, cuja tradição vem sendo mantida pelos producers do Alentejo, é ver e entender o que esta cultura produziu e acrescentou aos povos que ali habitaram. This is a viagem cultural fantastica. O vinho é bônus!!!

Amazing!! We had a wine tasting and a tour of the place with the lovely Joana. An experience full of history, tradition and passion. The tasting was enriched with delicious local products. The wines are produced in a traditional and manual way, of great quality! I can only recommend it!! Thank you so much!
