Le Poirier du Loup is the southernmost vineyard in Belgium, located in the picturesque village of Torgny. Planted 25 years ago on the south-facing slopes above the village, the vineyard continues a tradition of wine growing established by the Romans 2,000 years ago. It comprises 11,000 vines - mainly the Auxerrois, Chardonnay and Pinot noir varieties - on 2.25 hectares of land which belongs to the Rouvroy Commune. The winery is managed by a cooperative of volunteers who are active across the full spectrum of activities from the seasonal work in the vines to the vinification process and from sales to customer relations. It also has a work insertion programme in place to assist unemployed people rediscover the personal fulfilment of regular work.
Le Poirier du Loup produces predominantly sparkling wines - white and rosé - and also white and rosé still wines as well as ratafia. Since 2009 our production has been certified organic and in 2018 we went one step further by discontinuing the use of additives, in particular sulfites. We therefore offer a wine tasting experience which respects both nature and our visitors' health.

Write a reviewAn association vineyard in Gaume, in Belgian Provence... Don't laugh, the climate is much milder than that of the Belgian Ardennes, although very close by. A happy team that builds and optimizes its viticulture, from the first cut of the pruning shears to the glass. Well done, friends... keep it up!

The vineyard located on the flanks of Torgny covers an area of 1ha 60ca. The micro-climate and soil are perfect for viticulture. Anyone who has already been to Torgny will certainly agree that the climate in this village is milder. In this vineyard you will find 5 grape varieties; Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Auxerois and Gewurztraminer. About 5,000 bottles are bottled per year. (depends on the harvest) The showpiece is the Crémant Rosé. Those who want to taste the harvested wine can do so through a guided visit to the vineyard (reservation) or purchase at the tourist office next to the church of Torgny. The wine cellar and bottling plant are located in Rue l'Ermitage.
