Minkov Brothers Winery: a unique wine characteristic
The Minkov Brothers Winery is one of the most well-known Bulgarian wine farms and is perfectly situated in the beautiful Thracian Valley. At the Minkov Brothers Winery , the philosophy is that wine making starts in the vineyard and in keeping with this, three vineyard locations have been selected in the villages of Terziysko, Ognen and Devetak. These vineyards have been selected because despite being situated close to each other, they each have their own unique characteristics which contribute to the complexity and the attractiveness of the wines produced.
Surrounded by the beautiful Aegean Sea
The vineyards of Minkov Brothers Wine Cellar of perfectly located with the Black Sea to the east and the Aegean Sea to the South, making the climate perfect for the growing of grapes thanks to the north and south winds. The north winds blow onto the vines in the afternoon and at dusk to cool off the warm earth. The south winds blow mostly in the mornings the lift the morning dew and refresh the vines. These winds also prevent the vines and the grapes from becoming parched into the warm summers.
The influence of the winds makes the winters mild, the autumns long and warm, and the spring cool
The team of wine making specialists at Minkov Brothers Wine Cellar work hard to control and monitor the development of the wines to ensure that the grapes produced and used for the wines are only of the highest quality. The grapes are all harvested by hand and transported to the winery where they are sorted. Depending on the style of wine being produced, some are matured in barriques made of French and American oak in special tunnels dug undergrounds.
