AOP Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée Les Hautes Brusquieres

AOP Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée Les Hautes Brusquieres

Domaine de La Charbonniere

This single vineyard cuvée comes from the prestigious “Brusquières” plot, a plateau north of the appellation known for its classic Châteauneuf terroir: surface rolled pebbles with underlying clay, sand, and limestone soils. The blend is primarily Grenache (60%), Syrah (39%), and a small amount of Counoise (1%). The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted twice. Vinification involves destemming (75%), crushing, and about 4 weeks of gentle maceration, with fermentation occurring in wooden or stainless steel vats. Aging is done in wooden vats, demi-muids, and barrels. The wine reveals aromatic intensity with notes of black fruits, spices, and chocolate. On the palate, it offers concentrated flavors of black fruits, spices, leather, and wild nuances. Recommended serving temperature is 16–18°C with decanting or aeration advised before tasting.
